Let’s face it (pun intended), the beauty industry doesn’t really consider a “regular” woman when they announce a season’s new makeup trends. Typically, the makeup trends favor the bold and risk-taking. This fall’s makeup trends are no different. So, while fall 2024 runways are featuring bold and edgy looks, we’ll probably be sitting out most of them. Sorry bright color popping eyeshadows and spidery lashes…you just aren’t for us! BUT…if there’s a fun, new makeup trend you’re interested in trying…do it!

Fall Makeup Routine Ideas & Trends
Thankfully, there are a few simple ways to update your fall makeup routine that are aligned with the fall trends. For example, makeup is expected to take a more natural approach. Lips, on the other hand, will most likely be punched up with bold red hues and blurry, matte finishes. But you don’t have to be so precise in your application. We’ve created a handy list to refer to for 3 of the coolest—and most wearable—fall makeup trends to try when sweater weather comes around.
Less is More Foundation
This fall, you can do your makeup with more of a natural approach. The idea is to make skin look like…skin. Groundbreaking, right? That really just means that less is more when it comes to foundation or your base. If you can, consider a lighter coverage foundation or even a tinted moisturizer.
Blush Obsessed
It really depends on who you ask about blush for fall 2024. Some say we’re seeing less blush while others say we’re going full-blown on blush. Last year was all about blush that gave you that “sunburnt” look. Now, we’re seeing a more minimal approach…but again, it’s really up to you and how much you want to apply. When you do apply blush this season, go with fall hues like light browns and berry reds.
Red Statement Lip
Erin loves a red lip so she’s very excited about this one. A classic red lip has always been “in” but this year we’re seeing it a lot more and the application is a little different. Instead of precise and red lips, there’s more of a blurred application. If bright red isn’t for you, you can also go with a pretty burgundy since that’s a HUGE color this fall!
Rockstar Liner
This one is a bit of a wildcard but there are ways to make it more wearable. Instead of going full 90’s grunge rockstar eyeliner and shadow, try a subtle cat eye or simple winged liner. It may take some practice, but lit ooks so chic, modern and on-trend. Tip: Liquid liner makes the perfect wing easier!
