Fall Handbags
Finally, I ordered some handbags to try. I was initially looking for a casual black crossbody, but then I fell down the rabbit hole and ended up ordering some brown ones as well. Who wants to guess which ones I kept?
As for the black crossbody, I love my black Gucci camera bag, but it’s starting to look tired at five years old, and I’m kind of over the big logo.
In my heart of hearts, the bag I really want is the Celine Box Bag. I love the elegance and simplicity, and it’s stunning in person, an absolutely gorgeous leather inside and out. I lusted over it for years, but it wasn’t in my budget, and now it’s been discontinued. Womp… womp… I started looking at preowned versions, and in my search, I came across this “dupe” by Sézane.
Sézane Milo Classic Bag

- Brass clasp with light gold finish
- Zipped pocket and patch pocket inside
- Weight: 19 oz
- 6.7 x 9.4 x 1.8 inches
Granted, this is a NICE dupe; it’s genuine Italian leather, and the $425 price tag is still a bit daunting, but I was curious, so I ordered it. I will say that I love the design. The clasp opens easily by pressing on it, and you can adjust the length of the strap by pressing the studs on each side. You can see two of the three length options below.
This bag has just enough space inside for my basic essentials, and I do really like the look, but the leather is very hard and almost plasticky, and it seems like it’s going to scratch easily.
Here’s how it looks styled with a deep green sweater, jeans, and croc embossed mules. It’s a great look, and it carries comfortably, but…
VERDICT: At the end of the day, I decided it wasn’t worth the almost-$500 price tag. It just doesn’t feel that nice to me, so I sent it back. I have, however, ordered the Quince version to compare. It’s a much better price, at $175, and it’s also Italian leather. I’ll report back when I get it!
